October 05, 2009—VP of Engineering contributes to Content Archiving panel at DV EXPO 2009

Pasadena, CA  (October 5, 2009) – Tyler Purcell, VP Engineering at Alteran Technologies, recently joined three other industry experts to deliver a lively panel discussion on content archiving at DV Expo 2009. Alteran, a developer of customized workflow solutions for media and entertainment, offers a video content digitization and encoding hardware/software system solution.

The one and a half-hour session was designed to examine the hardware and processes necessary for both archiving currently generated content and migration of older content to an easily accessible storage system or medium.  Purcell explained the benefits of Alteran’s affordable rapid video ingest and encoding solution and how it can offer an economical alternative to current digitization and encoding processes.

“We were pleased to be in the company of such respected professionals at DV Expo,” Purcell commented. “Collectively, the panelists offered the audience a range of alternatives to meet every archiving challenge.  Alteran’s new solution addresses those that require an extremely fast, efficient and affordable means to capture, transform and deliver video in multiple video/audio file formats to media servers, digital archives and asset management systems. It allows content to be repurposed to network based distribution platforms such as the web, mobile devices, IPTV, and file based post production.”

The remainder of the panel was comprised of Josh Bruhin, Director, Business Development, Viewcast Media Server, Viewcast; Brian Campanotti, CTO, Front Porch Digital; and Pat Thompson, CTO, TV Magjc.
