Chatsworth, CA---Alteran Processing Laboratory (APL), Alteran Technologies’ service bureau, announced today that Producers Library of Los Angeles, CA, the country’s oldest and largest continuously operating independent stock footage house, has chosen Alteran Processing Labs (APL) to convert its legacy videotape library to digital files.

“After undertaking a successful test phase with APL utilizing several videotape formats (1, ¾, Beta, D9) from our library, we decided to partner with Alteran to migrate our videotape footage,” said Jeff Goodman, President of Producers Library.  “Alteran’s migration solution is a new robust technology that not only supports our quality requirements, but meets our budgetary constraints.”

APL offers affordable and rapid solutions for digitizing videotape libraries at its facility where tapes are inventoried using proprietary tracking software. The service bureau incorporates new and legacy certified hardware and software along with highly trained engineers and technicians to convert video tapes to any output digital file format. Content is packaged for retrieval and storage based on the customer’s specifications. 

APL can convert high definition, standard definition, analog or digital videotapes to mastering/archival formats and a wide range of industry standard codecs.
